About the fundraiser:

We are raising $25,000 in our efforts to cover production costs for Vie Boheme's one womans show CENTERPLAY which will premiere during The Guthrie Theater’s Spring presentation in the 9th floor Dowling Studio- March 20th-28th, 2020. $4,648 have already been raised through an Indiegogo crowd funding campaign.

We anticipate CENTERPLAY serving 1,100 patrons over 6 performances. We also anticipate Vie's community engagement initiative, The CENTERPLAY Workshop Experience, serving 60 women of color across Minneapolis. Although The Guthrie covers marketing, box office, community engagement connections, accessibility and crew members to support running CENTERPLAY, we still have significant pre-production overhead costs.

All proceeds support:
Set Design
Lighting designer
Sound engineer
Two Musicians (composition and performance)
Costumes
Documentation
Directorial Advisor
Event Insurance
Project Manager
Yoga mats, yoga blocks, yoga straps, storage containers, refreshments and snacks for the yoga focused community engagement activities

All proceeds go toward production and community engagement costs for CENTERPLAY at The Guthrie.

About Centerplay:

An immersive, one woman dance theater performance, artist Vie Boheme uses a fusion of dance and theater to embody the stories of black women. Using live music, movement, spoken word and monologues as she expresses the complex and interwoven emotions of each woman, defying stereotypes and giving gravity to their experiences with her body, voice and soul.
